Marissa Kirkendall

Designer II

Marissa is a emerging design professional at REALM, guiding the development of our stakeholder engagement process and storytelling capabilities.

Growing up in rural Napoleon, Ohio, Marissa developed an interest in understanding how people move and interact within urban spaces upon arriving in Columbus to study Landscape Architecture. After a six-month Co-Op at REALM, she’s began to play a leadership role through the early design phases of conceptual projects, providing strong graphic content and visual communication skills.

Marissa is also developing her awareness in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and digital mapping, making her an invaluable asset to large-scale visioning and planning studies focused on broader connectivity. She is most interested in conveying the stories of our clients, stakeholders, and community members through design solutions that are accessible to all.

Marissa is an active volunteer with a passion for engaging youth on the opportunities in the field of Landscape Architecture as a recently designated STEM profession. She is giving of her time to several student activities such as the City of Westerville’s STEM Design Camp and Center For Architecture and Design’s High School Design Studio.
