Creating campus identity: UC Health’s Campus has been undergoing a series of improvements and renovations to create more of a sense of identity for visitors and employees alike. The scope of this portion of the project contained the UC Health Dropoff at the Emergency Department, as well as landscape work for the adjacent building. The main goal was to maximize patient/guest comfort and create campus connectivity throughout UC Health’s campus.

What we did: REALM was able to increase accessibility in the drop-off area, as well as strengthen wayfinding to the proper lanes through pavement differentiation. The team was also able to further the identity of the campus through selecting these materials to match the Main Entry project, tying architectural expressions from the campus into the landscape.

The addition of an outdoor seating element serves as an additional waiting area for guests of the department to take a break from the stressors of indoors. It could also serve as a space to have private conversations on the phone,or wait for additional loved ones to arrive.
